OVERVIEW The Student Recruitment Officer (Science) at the University of Melbourne is a fixed-term, full-time role focused on attracting and converting high-potential students into science programs. Based in Parkville, this position blends domestic, international, and digital engagement, working closely with Future Students and Faculty partners. The role plays a visible, front-facing part in representing the Faculty of Science to prospective students in Australia and overseas. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Support the Recruitment Manager to implement, monitor and refine Science recruitment and admissions plans against KPIs. – Plan and deliver targeted recruitment campaigns, events and outreach activities, both onshore and offshore, to drive quality applications. – Provide timely, discipline-specific advice and high-quality service to prospective students, families, agents and partners. – Represent the University of Melbourne and the Faculty of Science at schools, recruitment fairs and online engagement activities in Australia and internationally. – Analyse enquiry and recruitment trends, share insights with stakeholders, and contribute to continuous improvement of recruitment processes and systems. – Collaborate with colleagues, agents and academic staff to support the growth of diverse, high-quality domestic and international student cohorts. REQUIREMENTS – Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, with experience in recruitment, marketing or student services. – Demonstrated proactive student recruitment experience within tertiary education or another large, complex service organisation. – Experience coordinating recruitment events and outreach activities, including planning, logistics, stakeholder liaison and post-event follow-up. – Proven ability to deliver high-quality customer service in fast-paced, front-line environments with competing deadlines and priorities. – Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders such as prospective students, families, agents and academic staff. – Confidence in using CRM or student systems, and willingness to adopt new technologies to support recruitment, reporting and follow-up. – Current valid work rights for Australia, noting that visa sponsorship is not available for this role. – Willingness to obtain and hold a valid Working with Children Check.
