OVERVIEW The Engagement Coordinator role at Country Universities Centre (CUC) Cowra Region is a community-focused position supporting higher education access for regional and rural students in New South Wales. Based in Cowra and servicing the broader Blue Mountains and Central West NSW region, this part-time role plays a central part in connecting students, stakeholders, and the wider community to CUC’s services and mission. The position combines community engagement, communications, events, and student-facing activities within a not-for-profit, government-funded environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Raise the profile of CUC Cowra Region within the community and beyond – Coordinate community engagement initiatives and events – Manage associated administration and communications tasks – Deliver external communications and marketing activities – Support student engagement activities – Coordinate student orientation and transition activities – Maintain a strong, professional, and welcoming presence across all communication channels and touchpoints with students, stakeholders, and the broader community REQUIREMENTS – Relevant undergraduate qualifications and/or experience – Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences – Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholder groups – Demonstrated experience in event planning and coordination – Proven experience in partnership development and stakeholder relationship management – Exceptional organisational and project management abilities – Strong social media management skills across multiple platforms, with understanding of analytics and engagement strategies – Demonstrated proficiency in digital technologies including Microsoft Office, video conferencing platforms, Canva, Eventbrite, social media tools, and website content management systems – Current work rights in Australia WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This role supports equitable access to higher education by strengthening local engagement and awareness of study opportunities for regional students.
