OVERVIEW The International Student Officer at Kingswood College is a part-time (0.4 FTE) professional role based in Box Hill South, Melbourne, supporting the wellbeing and enrolment journey of international students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Reporting to the International Student Coordinator, the position focuses on guardianship, welfare, compliance, and engagement within a values-driven, co-educational school environment. The role may be standalone or combined with a teaching load, offering flexibility for experienced educators or student services professionals. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Provide day to day welfare, guardianship and wellbeing support for international students – Serve as the key liaison between students, parents, homestay families and education agents – Oversee homestay arrangements, placement and compliance checks – Maintain accurate welfare and enrolment records in Synergetic and PRISMS – Support the international admissions process, including student onboarding and orientation – Promote Kingswood College’s international programs – Create a safe, nurturing and compliant environment for all international students REQUIREMENTS – Demonstrated experience working with culturally diverse groups, ideally within an education setting – Teaching qualification or solid experience within the educator sector – Familiarity with the ESOS Act, National Code, and VRQA Homestay Guidelines – Excellent communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills – High level of empathy, discretion and cultural awareness – Competence in Microsoft Office and database management systems, such as Synergetic – Current Employment Working With Children Check or VIT Registration – A valid Victorian Driver’s Licence – Fluency in Mandarin or another language relevant to the College’s international community is highly regarded WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS International students in school settings rely heavily on trusted adults to support their academic progress, personal wellbeing, and cultural adjustment.
