OVERVIEW Ilim College is seeking a full-time Counsellor for its Dallas Primary Campus in Melbourne, Victoria, commencing on 10 August 2026. The role focuses on supporting the social, emotional, and psychological wellbeing of primary students within a caring and values-driven school environment. The Counsellor will work closely with students, families, teachers, and leadership to promote positive student outcomes and contribute to a safe and inclusive school community. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Provide individual and small-group counselling to primary students. – Support student wellbeing through early intervention and preventative programs. – Work collaboratively with teachers, leadership, and families to promote positive student outcomes. – Assist with wellbeing initiatives, behaviour support, and crisis response where required. – Maintain accurate case notes and ensure confidentiality in accordance with professional standards. – Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment. – Actively model and uphold the College values of excellence, gratitude, kindness, integrity, and accountability. – Support the Islamic ethos of the College. – Adhere to the College’s Child Safe Policy and Code of Conduct. – Follow the professional dress code and modest attire expectations in line with Islamic principles. REQUIREMENTS – Relevant qualifications in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline. – Experience working with children and young people, preferably within an educational setting. – Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills. – Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. – Strong understanding of child development, mental health, and student wellbeing. – Commitment to the Islamic ethos and values of Ilim College. – Willingness to undergo child protection screening. – Ability to work full-time from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
