OVERVIEW This Admissions Officer (International) role is a fixed-term, full-time appointment within the University of Wollongong’s Admissions and Compliance Unit, part of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Growth & Global) portfolio. Based in Wollongong, this position supports the assessment and management of international student applications across multiple UOW campuses and selected UOW College programs. The role is suited to professionals who enjoy fast-paced, detail-oriented work and who are motivated by delivering a high-quality admissions experience to a diverse global student community. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Assess and manage applications from prospective international students across all University of Wollongong campuses and selected UOW College programs – Process credit transfer applications in line with institutional requirements – Support multiple international admissions pathways – Maintain data accuracy and uphold admissions integrity – Deliver high-quality customer service to prospective students and stakeholders – Contribute to continuous process improvements within the admissions function – Support the Admissions Manager (International) and the broader team during peak admission periods REQUIREMENTS – Strong written and verbal communication skills – Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures – Excellent attention to detail – Experience working in fast-paced, customer-focused environments – Ability to manage competing priorities effectively – Collaborative approach to working within a team environment – Cultural awareness and sensitivity when working with diverse populations – Strong level of digital and systems capability – Experience in admissions and knowledge of the Australian tertiary sector (desirable) WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS International admissions is often a student’s first formal interaction with a university, and the quality of this experience can shape their trust and confidence in the institution.
