OVERVIEW Chisholm Institute is hiring casual Student Ambassadors to support student engagement and peer-to-peer assistance across multiple campuses in Victoria, including Dandenong, Cranbourne, Frankston, Berwick, and Mornington Peninsula. This role is open only to current Chisholm students who are actively enrolled in a course. Student Ambassadors work within the Student Support and Engagement team to help current and prospective students navigate services, improve social connectedness, and build confidence through mentorship and support. The position offers a casual hourly rate of $40.94 plus superannuation and provides opportunities to develop employability skills, customer service experience, and professional communication capabilities in a higher education environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Provide peer-to-peer assistance to current and prospective students – Support enquiries related to careers, IT assistance, wayfinding, and general student services – Promote Chisholm Institute services, events, support programs, and library resources – Help students navigate physical and digital systems to locate information and services – Assist with general office administration tasks, including data entry and preparation of marketing materials – Support event and facility setup and pack-up activities – Work across multiple campuses and departments as required – Contribute to student engagement and social connectedness initiatives REQUIREMENTS – Must be currently enrolled and actively participating in a Chisholm Institute course – Demonstrated customer service experience in areas such as retail, hospitality, or administration – Well-developed knowledge of Chisholm Institute IT and library services, including systems such as Studiosity, myChisholm, and student email platforms – Effective verbal and written communication skills – Ability to coordinate activities and respond to student enquiries professionally – Ability and willingness to work across different departments, business areas, and campuses – Proven ability to build positive working relationships with people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds – Current and valid Working with Children Check (Employee) – Verified unrestricted rights to work in Australia – Verified National Police Check – Verified copies of qualifications and transcripts listed on the resume – Application must include a cover letter, resume, and contact details for three referees WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Student Ambassador roles play an important part in helping students feel welcomed, informed, and connected within a learning environment.
