OVERVIEW The Administrative Officer (Professional and Community Placement) role at Australian Catholic University supports the effective delivery of professional experience and community-based placements within the National School of Education. Based at the Melbourne (Fitzroy) campus, this part-time, fixed-term position focuses on coordinating and allocating placements that are essential to course completion and accreditation. The role operates within School Operations and involves regular collaboration with schools, community agencies, and supervising teachers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Establishing and allocating school-based, professional, and community placements for students – Liaising with centres, schools, and agencies to source suitable placement opportunities for students – Allocating placements in a timely manner in accordance with students’ course maps – Liaising with supervising teachers to ensure practicum requirements are met in line with course and accreditation policies and guidelines – Providing timely, effective, and efficient administrative support related to field placements REQUIREMENTS – Eligibility to hold Australian work rights – Completion of mandatory pre-employment declarations and background checks, including those related to gender-based violence and foreign interference – A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and/or Working with Vulnerable People Check (WWVP), as applicable WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Professional and community placements are a core component of teacher education and related programs, ensuring students gain real-world experience aligned with professional standards.
