OVERVIEW The Learning Adjustments Advisor at the University of Melbourne is a full-time continuing position within Student and Scholarly Services, based in Parkville, Melbourne. This student-facing role focuses on supporting equitable access to learning through tailored academic adjustments and coordinated support services. The position works closely with students, academic staff, and professional teams to remove barriers to participation and promote inclusive learning environments. The role sits within Student Equity and Disability Services (SEDS), a team committed to access, inclusion, and student success for learners from diverse and under-represented backgrounds. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Develop and implement Academic Adjustment Plans that support equitable participation in learning and assessment. – Coordinate learning adjustments and tangible supports, including accessible formatting, assistive technology, and Academic Support Workers. – Maintain accurate case records and service data in CRM and student systems while ensuring privacy and compliance requirements are met. – Provide student consultations, outreach, and case management services. – Facilitate timely referrals to internal and external support services. – Build collaborative relationships with academic and professional staff to promote inclusive practices. – Resolve complex adjustment issues in partnership with stakeholders across the university. – Contribute to a collaborative and values-driven team environment. REQUIREMENTS – Relevant qualification in health, disability, social welfare, or a related human services discipline. – Experience delivering disability or equity services within complex organisations. – Knowledge of and ability to apply relevant legislation. – Experience developing support plans and writing professional case notes. – Ability to manage high-volume caseloads effectively. – Confidence using large databases, CRM platforms, and student systems. – Ability to maintain accurate, timely, and compliant records. – Strong communication skills with the ability to engage sensitively with students and staff. – Demonstrated ability to build constructive relationships across diverse stakeholder groups. – Capacity to adapt positively to change and prioritise competing demands. – Current valid work rights for Australia. – Working with Children Check required. – Resume and cover letter outlining interest and experience required as part of the application.
