OVERVIEW The Student Engagement Officer at Chisholm Institute is a front-line, student-facing role within the Student Support team, focused on enriching the overall student experience. Based in Dandenong, Melbourne, this full-time fixed-term position runs until December 2026 and supports students across multiple campuses and online environments. The role combines direct student engagement, operational support, and proactive outreach to promote student success, retention, and belonging. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Provide tier one student support across multiple communication channels, responding to enquiries accurately and in a timely manner. – Confidently engage students via SMS, phone, email, CRM systems, direct messaging, webinars, and face-to-face interactions, and link them with appropriate support services. – Participate in and engage with students through on-campus Student Life events. – Deliver Student Support presentations or workshops at various Chisholm campuses or online. – Conduct proactive outbound phone call campaigns to promote and connect students to available support services. – Deliver structured one-to-one Success Coaching sessions across various campuses to promote student success and retention. – Undertake administrative duties as required, including front desk cover, sending appointment SMS reminders, managing shared mailboxes, and responding to inbound phone calls. – Prepare and maintain reports, statistical data, and spreadsheets for planning and reporting purposes. REQUIREMENTS – Demonstrable current experience and capacity in providing administrative support in a busy working environment. – Highly developed customer service and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team. – Strong presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences through various modes of communication. – Capacity to skillfully use a range of technologies. – A relevant qualification at a minimum of post-secondary level or relevant work experience.
