OVERVIEW The Clubs Events Officer role at Arc@UNSW Limited is an entry-level, student-facing position focused on enhancing the student experience through clubs and events at UNSW. Based on the Kensington campus, this casual role supports over 380 Arc-affiliated student clubs by assisting with event coordination, engagement activities, and administrative support. It is designed for current UNSW students seeking hands-on experience in events, student engagement, and campus life programming. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Attend to tasks and enquiries during scheduled shifts, either in the Clubs Space or remotely, as directed – Assist with department events and activities, including O-Week, Launch Week, International Markets, and the Club Awards Dinner – Assist in the running and coordination of ongoing events such as Clubs Takeover and Games Galore – Assist in organising events by coordinating logistics, ensuring smooth setups, and facilitating event execution – Assist in departmental engagement at events, activities, and club executive consults – Utilise organisational skills to manage spreadsheets and maintain event-related documentation – Participate in and help run training sessions for clubs and student staff on events and risk management – Assist in evaluating existing Arc-run club events and activities, and contribute ideas for new offerings based on student and club feedback – Respond to student inquiries and emails promptly, providing helpful information and assistance – Attend and provide support to club administration tasks such as Clubs Reaffiliation, as directed REQUIREMENTS – Must be a current UNSW student – Experience with Arc-affiliated Clubs – Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to positively engage with many different types of people, especially UNSW students, with an awareness of cultural diversity – Previous experience with event planning and strong organisational skills – Ability to provide a high level of customer service to students, clubs, and other relevant stakeholders – Strong understanding of the UNSW student demographic, what they want, and how to reach them – High attention to detail with proven organisational and administration skills and the ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines – Experience with social media such as Facebook and Discord and basic awareness of social media analytics WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Student clubs and events play a central role in building belonging, leadership skills, and community engagement within universities.
