OVERVIEW Mannix College in Clayton, Melbourne VIC is seeking an Academic Support Coordinator for a short-term parental leave cover contract running from 1 September to 13 November 2026. This flexible opportunity is available on a part-time or full-time basis and focuses on supporting students as they navigate academic life at Monash University. The role combines academic coaching, student engagement, program coordination, and proactive student support within a residential college environment. The successful candidate will work closely with students to strengthen academic skills, improve study planning, and connect with university support services where needed. The position is suited to individuals with a strong understanding of higher education systems and a genuine interest in student success. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Hold regular one-on-one advising sessions to guide students on study planning, university navigation, and assessment strategies. – Support students in developing academic success skills such as time management, exam preparation, essay structuring, notetaking, referencing, and academic integrity. – Manage the Academic Support Program, including peer learning initiatives and weekly StudyFest coordination. – Potentially deliver workshops focused on study skills, employability, leadership, and scholarships. – Support the Dean of Students in monitoring academic performance and identifying at-risk students. – Help design proactive support plans for students requiring additional academic assistance. – Maintain active relationships with Monash University support services including Monash Connect, Academic Skills, Counselling, and Disability Support. – Refer students to appropriate university services when required. – Maintain a visible and approachable presence within the college community.
