OVERVIEW The Administrative Officer, Exams and Progression at The University of Western Australia supports key student administration services related to examinations and course progression. Based within the Division of Student Life, this part-time fixed-term role contributes to the delivery of a high-quality student experience across the academic lifecycle. The position involves close collaboration with academic and professional staff while supporting operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Support the planning, coordination and administration of the University’s annual examinations processes – Assist with course progression processes across the student lifecycle – Work collaboratively with academic and professional staff across the University – Deliver student administration services within the Student Administration Team – Contribute to process improvement initiatives within Student Administration – Participate in operational projects aimed at enhancing service delivery and operational excellence – Support activities related to fees, enrolment, scholarships, exams, progression and graduation services – Maintain effective communication and working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders – Manage competing priorities and work to critical deadlines – Provide high levels of customer service to students and stakeholders REQUIREMENTS – Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent experience in an administrative role – Experience working in a complex organisation or higher education environment is desirable – Demonstrated experience coordinating administrative processes – Ability to manage competing priorities and meet critical deadlines – Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills – Ability to build effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders – Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail – Sound problem-solving skills – Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment – Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems – Commitment to continuous improvement and exceptional customer service – Availability for occasional weekend work during exam rounds – Availability for some after-hours work during peak periods – Relevant rights to work in Australia WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This role supports essential academic administration functions that directly affect the student experience, from examinations through to progression and graduation.
