OVERVIEW The ISO Support and Engagement Assistant Director at the University of Rochester supports programs and services designed for international students and scholars. This role works closely with campus partners to coordinate orientation, communication, and engagement activities that contribute to a positive student experience in higher education. The position also supports operational activities connected to programming, outreach, and immigration-related processes. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Design, organize, and implement international student orientation for undergraduate and graduate students – Collaborate with campus partners on programming and support initiatives – Manage planning, communication, and implementation of programs for international students and scholars – Coordinate pre-arrival communication activities – Support airport pickup planning and coordination – Organize intercultural training workshops – Lead student engagement initiatives for the international student community – Manage student employees connected to programming and support activities – Conduct outreach to students and campus stakeholders – Maintain communication tools and related resources – Support immigration check-in activities REQUIREMENTS – Experience working with international populations in higher education preferred – Experience as a DSO or PDSO preferred – Ability to coordinate communication and engagement activities – Ability to collaborate with campus partners and support student programming WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS International student support roles contribute directly to student engagement, campus connection, and a successful transition into higher education environments.
