UWE, Bristol

We are currently looking for skilled professionals to join UWE Bristol’s Academic Quality and Partnerships Enhancement (AQPE) team as Quality Advisers. In this role, you will work collaboratively with experienced colleagues to deliver specialist services in either curriculum development or UK and international academic partnerships. Our newly expanded AQPE team provides university-wide support for the ongoing development and review of UWE Bristol’s educational portfolio. This includes three interconnected areas of activity: curriculum, standards and accreditation, and collaborative provision. To be successful in this position, you should have broad-based administrative experience in a large complex organization, such as a university. You should also have a track record of delivering agile, customer-focused services. Experience in supporting committees and groups, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and ensuring effective action-tracking, is essential. Although previous experience in supporting academic partnerships or curriculum development would be beneficial, it is not essential as full training will be provided. As a Quality Adviser, you will need to be able to balance a range of responsibilities in a flexible, autonomous, and proactive manner. You should be able to use your initiative and take an enquiry-based approach to your work. UWE Bristol’s Student and Academic Services team is committed to enhancing the student experience. Our team of over 400 professional staff is dedicated to supporting students from registration to graduation and beyond. We offer extensive opportunities for personal and professional growth throughout their journey. Both positions are based at our lively Frenchay campus, which boasts modern facilities and resources for both staff and students. UWE Bristol is one of the largest providers of Higher Education in the South West, with a student body of 32,000 and a global community of 250,000 alumni and 4,000 staff. In addition to competitive pay rates, we offer a wide range of employee benefits, which can be viewed in the full advert on our website. We particularly encourage applications from candidates from Black, Asian, Multiple Heritage, or Other Minority Ethnic backgrounds, as these groups are currently under-represented within UWE Bristol. However, all appointments are made strictly on individual merit. For more information or an informal discussion about these opportunities, please contact Helen Dewar on 0117 328 1690 or email helen.dewar@uwe.ac.uk. These are full-time, permanent positions, with a working week of 37 hours. We also welcome applicants who wish to work part-time on a job share basis. Interviews will take place in mid-September 2023. As a Disability Confident employer, we welcome applications from individuals who identify as having a disability. Please note that UWE Bristol is a campus-based university, and this role is based on campus with some opportunities for home working. The University’s policy is to start new appointments at the beginning of the grade. We are unable to provide sponsorship for this role under the Home Office Skilled Worker visa route. If you are shortlisted, you will be asked to provide your right to work documents at your interview. Please be aware that UWE does not cover any visa or health surcharge costs
