Employment is subject to funding and approval from the partner school. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: – Develop and implement personalized lessons for students with reading difficulties. – Maintain accurate records for each student. – Ensure the successful operation of tutoring centers. – Offer guidance and support to new tutors. Minimum Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Experience: Previous experience as an elementary literacy tutor/teacher or related. Not currently enrolled as an undergraduate at TAMIU. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: – Effective communication skills, both oral and written. – Strong interpersonal abilities. – Familiarity with effective literacy intervention strategies. – Ability to maintain confidentiality. – Excellent command of the English language. Other Information: – Temporary position subject to funding and need. – Must undergo a TB test by the partnership district before working with students. – Reliable transportation required during school hours. – In-person interactions are necessary. – Regular attendance at the workplace is expected. Pay Rate: $11.35/hour for up to 19 hours.
