OVERVIEW The Director of Study Abroad Programs at UNLV Global Education provides leadership for the university’s outbound study abroad portfolio. This role oversees the planning, development, and administration of international academic experiences for students. The position integrates academic, operational, and compliance responsibilities while supervising staff who support study abroad initiatives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Provide leadership for all aspects of UNLV’s outbound student study abroad programs – Lead strategic planning related to study abroad initiatives – Oversee study abroad program development – Manage academic approval processes for study abroad programs – Ensure compliance related to study abroad operations – Oversee risk management for outbound programs – Administer or oversee scholarships related to study abroad – Supervise staff within UNLV Global Education REQUIREMENTS WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Study abroad programs are a core component of global learning and internationalization in higher education.
