OVERVIEW The Global Placements Adviser role at King’s College London sits within King’s Business School Careers and focuses on supporting undergraduate students undertaking a year-in-industry placement. The position combines student-facing guidance with collaboration across the Business School and wider College to ensure high-quality placement experiences. It is a full-time, indefinite role based primarily at the Strand Campus and Bush House in London, with an expectation of on-campus presence. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Support undergraduate students undertaking a year-in-industry placement – Help students navigate placement job searches – Provide advice through workshops, one-to-one appointments, events, and resources – Support students during their placement year – Support students in their transition back into academic study after placement – Work directly with placement hosts – Collect and respond to feedback from placement hosts – Manage surveys related to placements – Escalate issues arising during placements when required – Collaborate with Business School colleagues – Work with academics, careers staff, and placement colleagues across the College REQUIREMENTS – Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience – Knowledge of higher education – Knowledge of work-based learning – Project management ability – Stakeholder engagement skills – Data analysis and reporting skills – Experience communicating complex information clearly – Experience in student mobility, international programmes, careers, education, placements, or employability – Highly organised approach to work – Adaptable working style – Personable and effective communication skills WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Year-in-industry placements play a significant role in helping students apply academic learning in professional contexts and develop employability skills.
