OVERVIEW The International Student Program Coordinator supports international students throughout their academic journey at Wright State University, from arrival through ongoing enrollment. Based in the Center for International Education in Dayton, Ohio, this role blends immigration compliance with student engagement, retention, and cross-cultural programming. The position works closely with campus partners to ensure students understand U.S. regulations while successfully adapting to campus life. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Provide immigration support and retention services for international students – Advise students on immigration regulations – Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Department of State – Process immigration documents, including issuing I-20s – Manage CPT and OPT processing – Plan and deliver new international student orientation each term – Organize workshops, co-curricular activities, and cross-cultural student events – Manage host family programming – Supervise airport pickups and immigration check-in – Coordinate housing for international students REQUIREMENTS – Bachelor’s degree – At least one year of related experience – Strong written and verbal communication skills – Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications – Ability to work occasional evening or weekend hours WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS International students face complex regulatory, cultural, and logistical challenges, particularly when navigating U.S. immigration systems alongside academic expectations.
