OVERVIEW Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo is seeking a Study Abroad Coordinator for the International Center. Under the general supervision of the Assistant Vice Provost for International Programs, this coordinator position serves as the main liaison for the Solano campus while supporting study abroad activities across both the Solano and SLO campuses. This full-time temporary 1-year program role focuses on advising, health and safety coordination, faculty-led program development, and support for international initiatives. The position also contributes to services connected to international students, scholars, and global partnerships through the International Center. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Serve as the primary coordinator and liaison for the Solano campus – Provide complex study abroad advising for students – Facilitate faculty-led program development for Solano and SLO campuses – Coordinate pre-departure training activities – Support health and safety training related to study abroad participation – Act as the primary campus coordinator for health, safety, and compliance activities – Oversee scholarships connected to study abroad opportunities – Support marketing and outreach efforts for international program activities – Assist with risk management related to abroad programs – Coordinate orientations and re-entry programming – Support program assessment initiatives – Plan and support events connected to international and study activities – Contribute to internationalization efforts through the International Center – Support services related to international students and scholars – Assist with activities connected to global partnerships REQUIREMENTS – Ability to provide complex student advising related to study abroad – Ability to coordinate health, safety, and compliance activities – Ability to support faculty-led program development – Ability to manage outreach, orientations, and event planning activities – Ability to support program assessment and scholarship oversight – Ability to collaborate across campuses and support international program initiatives WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This coordinator role supports students seeking meaningful international study experiences while helping campuses expand access to abroad opportunities.
