OVERVIEW The International Student Advisor (ISA) role at Virginia Tech supports the university’s international student community through a comprehensive range of advising and compliance services. Based in the Cranwell International Center (CIC) in Blacksburg, Virginia, this position plays a central role in helping students navigate immigration regulations, employment options, and academic expectations. The appointment is a regular, calendar-year administrative professional position and includes a comprehensive benefits package. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Support international students through immigration advising, employment advising, and academic advising. – Manage Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) records in compliance with federal regulations. – Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) for the institution. – Collaborate across the university to enhance services and support structures for international students.
