OVERVIEW Morgan State University is seeking a Sr. Employment Compliance Coordinator in Baltimore, Maryland. This role serves as the university’s primary expert on employment-based immigration processes and federal employment eligibility verification. The position combines immigration compliance responsibilities with support for international faculty and staff while helping departments manage institutional processes related to hiring and onboarding. The coordinator works across university offices to support compliance with immigration laws and regulations. The role also involves advising departments, managing employment eligibility procedures, and supporting faculty recruitment activities connected to international employment processes. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Serve as the university’s primary expert on employment-based immigration processes – Ensure institutional compliance with immigration laws and regulations – Support international faculty and staff throughout immigration and employment processes – Coordinate H-1B visa processes – Coordinate J-1 visa processes – Coordinate O-1 visa processes – Advise hiring departments on immigration requirements – Liaise with the Office of International Affairs – Manage E-Verify compliance processes – Manage I-9 compliance processes – Support faculty recruitment activities – Support onboarding processes for faculty and staff – Provide training on immigration procedures – Provide training on employment eligibility matters REQUIREMENTS – Knowledge of employment-based immigration processes – Knowledge of federal employment eligibility verification requirements – Ability to support compliance with immigration laws and regulations – Experience coordinating immigration-related processes including H-1B, J-1, and O-1 matters – Ability to advise hiring departments on immigration requirements – Ability to manage E-Verify and I-9 compliance processes – Ability to support faculty recruitment and onboarding activities – Ability to provide training on immigration procedures and employment eligibility matters WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This position plays an important role in helping the university maintain compliance with federal immigration and employment eligibility requirements.
