OVERVIEW The Part-Time Advisor II at Lone Star College serves as a key resource for students seeking academic guidance and support related to degree completion. This position focuses on advising students on academic planning, course selection, enrollment, and schedule building while tracking academic progress. The role also includes specialized support for international students through immigration guidance, admission advice, and collaboration with the Office of International Programs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Serve as the first point of contact for students seeking academic support and guidance – Advise students on degree planning and degree completion requirements – Provide academic advice related to program requirements and course selection – Assist students with enrollment and schedule building – Track students’ academic progress – Advise international students on immigration issues – Ensure college compliance with immigration procedures and regulations – Provide admission advice and counsel to international students – Collaborate with the Office of International Programs REQUIREMENTS – Experience advising students on academic progress and degree planning – Ability to provide academic advice regarding program requirements and enrollment – Knowledge of immigration procedures and regulations for international students – Ability to support admission guidance for international students – Ability to collaborate with institutional offices and student support teams WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Academic advisors play an important role in helping students navigate their educational journey and make informed decisions about their degree goals.
