OVERVIEW The University of Houston is seeking an International Services Administrative Coordinator within the Int’l Student & Scholar Svcs department. This position coordinates administrative operations while assisting international students, scholar populations, and students with a range of office, immigration, and adjustment-related requests. The role also supports document processing, communication, and front desk services for student and scholar needs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Coordinate administrative operations within the department – Support personnel administration activities – Assist with payroll-related administrative functions – Coordinate telecommunications activities – Support building maintenance processes – Maintain property inventory responsibilities – Assist international students and scholars with student requests – Advise on office procedures for document processing and payments – Guide students on immigration related matters – Assist with cultural adjustment inquiries – Answer phone calls and emails – Assist students at the front desk – Support J-1 scholar check-ins – Verify health insurance documentation – Navigate SEVIS functionality to assist F-1/J-1 students and dependents REQUIREMENTS – Experience coordinating administrative operations – Ability to assist students and scholar populations with office procedures – Knowledge of document processing and payment procedures – Ability to guide students regarding immigration related matters – Strong communication skills for responding to phone calls and emails – Ability to support front desk operations in a student-focused department – Ability to assist with cultural adjustment inquiries – Familiarity with SEVIS functionality for assisting F-1/J-1 students and dependents – Ability to support J-1 scholar check-ins and health insurance verification WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This role supports the daily experience of international students and scholar communities by assisting with important administrative and immigration-related processes.
