OVERVIEW The Student Admissions Director at the University of Oklahoma supports the Office of Admissions & Recruitment in serving domestic and international students throughout the application and decision process. This position focuses on leadership, recruitment strategy, relationship development, and collaboration across admissions operations. The role also contributes to outreach efforts designed to connect prospective students, counselors, alumni, and institutional stakeholders. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Lead admissions counselors and provide staff oversight – Manage staff operations and budget responsibilities – Plan recruitment events for prospective students – Support national recruitment strategy initiatives – Build relationships with high school counselors – Present information to prospective students – Collaborate with admissions leadership – Participate in admissions review processes – Support alumni and stakeholder networks – Assist domestic and international freshman, transfer, and concurrent students during the application and decision process REQUIREMENTS – Bachelor’s degree – 60 months of related higher education experience WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Admissions and recruitment professionals play an important role in helping students navigate the transition into higher education. Effective leadership in admissions can strengthen institutional outreach, improve communication with counselors and prospective students, and support long-term engagement with alumni and community stakeholders. This role also contributes to recruitment strategy and operational coordination, helping ensure that students receive guidance throughout the application and admissions process. Strong collaboration across teams supports a consistent experience for students considering a bachelor’s degree pathway.
