OVERVIEW Texas A&M International University is seeking an International Student Advisor II within the Office of International Experiences in Laredo, Texas. This role supports international students by providing guidance on immigration, academic, financial, travel, tax, health insurance, and related matters. The position also assists office leadership with services for international students, faculty, and staff while supporting international education initiatives across the institution. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Advises international students on immigration matters – Assists international students with academic, financial, travel, tax, and health insurance questions – Maintains international student records – Manages SEVIS-related documentation – Supports orientations and workshops for students – Assists with student programming activities – Supports admissions-related processing – Coordinates international education opportunities – Serves as SEVIS Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) – Serves as Designated School Official (DSO) – Assists office leadership in providing services to international students, faculty, and staff REQUIREMENTS – Experience advising international students on immigration and related matters – Ability to maintain international student records and SEVIS-related documentation – Ability to support orientations, workshops, and student programming – Ability to assist with admissions-related processing – Ability to coordinate international education opportunities – Ability to serve as SEVIS ARO and DSO WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS International education offices play an important role in supporting international students as they navigate academic and immigration processes in the United States. An advisor in this position assists students with compliance, access to resources, and participation in campus life while helping institutions maintain accurate international student records and services.
