OVERVIEW The SEVIS Records Coordinator & Student Engagement Advisor at California State University–East Bay plays a central role in supporting international student compliance, advising, and engagement. Positioned within the International Programs office, this role combines regulatory responsibilities as a Designated School Official (DSO) with student-facing advising and programming. The position supports both newly admitted and continuing F-1 students across their academic journey. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) for F-1 students. – Issue and manage Forms I-20 in accordance with federal regulations. – Oversee SEVIS registration and ongoing compliance reporting. – Advise newly admitted and continuing F-1 students on immigration regulations. – Provide guidance related to enrollment requirements and academic status. – Support students with cultural transition and adjustment. – Plan and facilitate international student engagement events. – Coordinate workshops and orientations for international students. – Collaborate with admissions and campus partners to support international student success.
