OVERVIEW Harvard University is seeking a Director of International Admissions to oversee the recruitment, evaluation, and selection of students seeking admission. The role provides leadership for admissions operations, including recruitment, marketing, policy development, and analysis related to international admissions. This position also supports outreach efforts designed to strengthen access and improve pathways to college for international students. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Oversee all aspects of the recruitment, evaluation, and selection of students seeking admission – Lead admissions operations including recruitment, marketing, and analysis – Implement marketing and outreach plans to recruit a highly diverse applicant pool – Improve pathways to college for international students – Establish and monitor policies and procedures for the international admissions process – Develop and manage recruitment strategy initiatives – Oversee alumni interviewing abroad – Supervise staff involved in admissions and recruitment activities – Forecast and monitor departmental budget activities – Coordinate recruiting trips abroad – Evaluate international credentials and applications for first-year admissions – Investigate fraud cases related to applications and admissions documentation – Train admissions officers in the evaluation of international applications – Collaborate with Harvard offices and institutional partners – Represent Harvard College international admissions to stakeholders and partners – Travel abroad for recruitment events, presentations, alumni relations, and interviewer training REQUIREMENTS – Experience overseeing recruitment, evaluation, and admissions processes – Ability to manage admissions operations, marketing, and analysis functions – Knowledge of international admissions procedures and evaluation of international credentials – Experience developing recruitment strategies and outreach initiatives – Ability to supervise staff and manage budgets – Experience coordinating recruitment activities abroad – Ability to investigate fraud cases related to applications – Experience training admissions officers in evaluation practices – Strong collaboration and representation skills with stakeholders and institutional partners – Willingness to travel abroad for recruitment and alumni engagement activities WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS International admissions leadership plays an important role in shaping a globally diverse student community.
