OVERVIEW Coppin State University is seeking a Senior Director of Experiential Learning to provide strategic leadership for student experiential learning initiatives. The role oversees programs connected to study abroad, exchange opportunities, undergraduate research, career development, internships, and service learning. This position supports the overall development, implementation, and evaluation of programs that align with institutional goals while strengthening student engagement and learning opportunities. The Senior Director will collaborate with faculty, supervise staff, manage operational areas, and support students participating in experiential and abroad opportunities. The position also serves as an important contact for study abroad and exchange partners while helping ensure effective program coordination and student support. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Provide strategic leadership and vision for student experiential learning programs – Oversee study abroad and exchange programs – Support undergraduate research initiatives – Lead career development and internship opportunities – Manage service learning programs – Direct the overall development, implementation, and evaluation of experiential learning initiatives – Ensure programs align with the university mission and goals – Supervise staff connected to experiential learning programs – Oversee risk management activities – Manage program budgets – Collaborate with faculty on study abroad and exchange opportunities – Support student engagement activities – Assist with application processes and orientations – Serve as a point of contact for study abroad and exchange partners REQUIREMENTS – Experience providing strategic leadership for experiential learning programs – Ability to oversee program development, implementation, and evaluation – Experience supervising staff – Ability to manage budgets and risk management processes – Collaboration skills for working with faculty and external partners – Ability to support student engagement and learning initiatives – Experience assisting with application processes and orientations WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Experiential learning programs create meaningful opportunities for student growth through study abroad, exchange participation, internships, research, and service learning.
