OVERVIEW Franklin College of Indiana is seeking a full-time Director of Belonging and Community within the Division of Student Development. Reporting to the Vice President for Student Development and Dean of Students, this exempt 12-month position provides leadership for the Center for Diversity & Inclusion (cdi) and supports student engagement across the college community. The role focuses on creating opportunities for students to build connection, strengthen belonging, and engage with campus life and the surrounding community. The position also supports the success and persistence of all students, including international students and students from historically underrepresented populations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Provide strategic leadership for the Center for Diversity & Inclusion (cdi) – Foster student engagement and promote a sense of belonging – Create opportunities for students to connect with the campus and surrounding community – Support the success, persistence, and graduation of students – Support international students and students who may experience challenges engaging with institutional resources and organizations – Support student organizations – Develop community engagement opportunities – Advise cdi-affiliated organizations – Supervise staff – Collaborate with institutional departments – Manage the cdi budget REQUIREMENTS – Master’s degree in a related field – Experience supporting college students – Student-centered professional approach WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This position plays an important role in helping students feel connected to the college community and supported throughout their educational experience. By leading initiatives focused on belonging, engagement, and collaboration, the director contributes to a campus environment where students can participate fully in organizations, access resources, and build meaningful connections.
