OVERVIEW Marist University is seeking an Assistant Director, International Student Services to support international students through advising, immigration support, and intercultural programming. The role works within International Student Services and contributes to student success by coordinating orientation activities, supporting compliance processes, and helping strengthen international engagement across the university. This position includes responsibilities connected to F and J immigration advising, student services, and programming that supports inclusion and community connection. The assistant director also collaborates with the director to develop initiatives that enhance the experience of international students. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Support counselling and advising for international students – Provide immigration support related to F and J visa categories – Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) – Serve as an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) – Manage SEVIS compliance responsibilities – Advise students regarding OPT and CPT processes – Plan, coordinating, and administer the international orientation program twice each year – Support the director in enhancing internationalization initiatives at Marist University – Develop and deliver international and intercultural co-curricular events and activities – Create programming that supports international student inclusion and success – Coordinate activities that encourage students to share, learn, and connect REQUIREMENTS – Experience supporting international students through advising and student services – Knowledge of F and J immigration processes – Ability to manage SEVIS compliance responsibilities – Ability to advise students on OPT and CPT – Experience coordinating orientation programs and student activities – Ability to develop and deliver intercultural programming – Ability to support inclusion and student success initiatives WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS International Student Services plays an important role in helping international students navigate academic, cultural, and immigration processes while building community connections.
