OVERVIEW Lone Star College is seeking a Part-Time Advisor II, Advising to support students through academic guidance and degree completion planning. This role serves as a first point of contact for students and provides direction on program requirements, enrollment, and course selection. The position also works with international students on immigration matters and collaborates with the Office of International Programs to support compliance with immigration procedures and regulations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Serve as the first point of contact for students seeking academic support and guidance – Meet with students and track academic progress related to degree completion – Provide academic advice and direction on degree planning – Explain program requirements to students – Assist students with course selection and enrollment – Support students with schedule building – Advises international students on immigration issues – Ensure college compliance with immigration procedures and regulations – Collaborate with the Office of International Programs REQUIREMENTS – Experience advising students on academic progress and degree planning – Ability to provide academic advice regarding program requirements and enrollment – Knowledge related to supporting international students and immigration procedures – Ability to collaborate with the Office of International Programs WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Academic advising plays an important role in helping students stay informed, organized, and connected to their degree goals.
