OVERVIEW Northern Kentucky University is seeking a Director, International Student & Scholar Services to lead the administration of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS). The director is responsible for supporting international students and scholar services through immigration advising, international admissions processes, international recruitment activities, and university-wide internationalization initiatives. This leadership role also oversees compliance, reporting, staff supervision, and training connected to federal immigration regulations and institutional operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Administer International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) – Lead recruitment of non-U.S. citizens – Oversee foreign credential evaluations and transfer equivalencies – Manage immigration processing and advising for international students, staff, and faculty – Develop and deliver programs supporting internationalization, training, and education within the university community – Serve as the university’s Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) – Serve as Responsible Officer (RO) – Supervise DSOs and AROs – Ensure SEVIS compliance and reporting – Issue I-20 and DS-2019 documents – Lead international recruitment strategy – Manage international admissions processes – Support process improvement initiatives – Provide reporting and staff training REQUIREMENTS – Bachelor’s degree – At least five years of progressively responsible experience in international student and scholar services, international admissions, enrollment management, or related fields – Supervisory experience – Knowledge of immigration regulations – Knowledge of SEVIS reporting WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This position plays an important role in supporting international students and scholar services while helping the university maintain compliance with federal immigration requirements. The director contributes to international recruitment, student support, and institutional internationalization efforts that strengthen the campus community and global engagement.
