OVERVIEW Liberty University is seeking an International Student Advisor II to support nearly 750 non-immigrant international students. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with federal regulations connected to student immigration status and SEVIS reporting requirements. The position also supports students through advising, orientation, and coordination with university offices. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Oversee relationships and compliance matters for nearly 750 non-immigrant international students – Ensure the university complies with federal regulations under U.S. Code of Federal Regulations 8 CFR S 214.2(4) – Maintain and manage SEVIS records for international students – Advise and orient international students regarding university processes and expectations – Counsel students on immigration regulations and university policies – Coordinate with student service offices across the university – Advocate for international students within the university environment – Monitor Optional Practical Training employment reporting requirements REQUIREMENTS – Knowledge of federal regulations related to international student compliance – Ability to maintain SEVIS records accurately – Experience advising students on immigration regulations and university policies – Ability to coordinate with multiple university student service offices – Ability to support and advocate for international students – Understanding of Optional Practical Training employment reporting WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This position plays an important role in helping international students maintain compliance with federal regulations while pursuing their education at the university.
