OVERVIEW The Director, CalSOAP & California College Corps Program at Kern Community College District provides strategic leadership and administrative oversight for programs that support educational access and student success. The role focuses on strengthening educational pathways, increasing college-going rates, improving financial aid completion, promoting college awareness, and supporting community engagement initiatives. This position also works closely with educational partners and internal teams to coordinate services that benefit students and communities across the region. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Provide strategic leadership for CalSOAP and California College Corps programs – Oversee administrative operations for both programs – Support initiatives related to educational pathways and student success – Develop and maintain partnerships with K-12 districts and higher education organizations – Promote college-going rates and college awareness activities – Support financial aid completion initiatives – Integrate student support services and programming – Manage grant oversight and budget administration – Coordinate data reporting activities and program tracking – Develop and implement recruitment strategies – Supervise staff members and program fellows – Support community engagement efforts connected to program goals REQUIREMENTS – Experience providing strategic leadership and administrative oversight – Ability to build partnerships with K-12 districts and higher education organizations – Knowledge of educational pathways, college awareness, and student success initiatives – Experience with grant oversight and budget management – Ability to manage data reporting processes – Experience developing recruitment strategies – Supervisory experience working with staff and fellows – Ability to support community engagement initiatives WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This role contributes to expanding educational opportunity and strengthening pathways to higher education for students and communities.
