OVERVIEW Aston University is seeking a Deputy Director for Transnational Education to support the delivery of its international ambitions through the development and management of its tne portfolio. The role focuses on developing new opportunities, overseeing partnerships, and ensuring operational delivery across higher education activities. The successful candidate will work across Schools and professional services to coordinate partnership development, approvals, governance, and portfolio performance. This position requires strong experience in education partnerships, stakeholder management, and project leadership within an international context. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Lead the development, approval, mobilisation and performance of Aston University’s tne portfolio – Work across Schools and professional services to progress new opportunities – Ensure opportunities are strategically aligned, academically robust, commercially viable and operationally deliverable – Oversee live partnerships and support partnership governance – Shape new opportunities and develop business cases and approvals – Coordinate delivery of partnership activity – Support a disciplined portfolio approach – Oversee partnership performance, risk and alignment with institutional priorities – Help ensure partnerships support a high-quality student experience REQUIREMENTS – Significant experience developing, managing or supporting complex international partnerships – Experience ideally gained within higher education – Strong understanding of tne models – Knowledge of partnership development – Understanding of quality assurance processes – Experience in project leadership – Strong stakeholder management experience WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS International partnerships play an important role in helping universities expand access to education and strengthen global engagement.
