OVERVIEW The Global Employment Advisor role at the University of Exeter supports the institution’s international activity by providing specialist advice on overseas employment and global mobility. Sitting within the HR Global Employment team, the post works across campuses and in a hybrid model to advise managers and staff on complex cross-border employment issues. The role combines operational support with contribution to wider global employment projects and transformation initiatives across the University. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Provide professional advice on overseas employment matters across the University – Support global mobility activity, including international working arrangements – Advise on cross-border tax and social security rules related to overseas employment – Coordinate with external providers involved in global employment and mobility – Provide operational support to managers and staff on international employment issues – Contribute to global employment projects and transformation initiatives REQUIREMENTS WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS As universities expand their global footprint, managing international employment arrangements in a compliant and effective way is increasingly important. This role helps ensure that staff working across borders are supported appropriately while the institution meets its legal and regulatory obligations. By contributing to global employment projects, the post also supports longer-term improvements in how international working is managed across the University.
