OVERVIEW The Student Immigration Officer role at the University of Oxford supports international students and their families across the full student lifecycle, from pre-arrival through study and onward transitions. Working within the Student Immigration team, the post partners closely with the Head of Student Immigration to deliver accurate, timely, and student-focused immigration advice. The role combines advisory support with institutional compliance responsibilities under the UK Points Based Immigration System. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Provide high-quality immigration support to international students and their families before arrival, during their studies, and as they transition to work or return home. – Work closely with the Head of Student Immigration as part of the Student Immigration team. – Support compliance and advisory functions under the UK Points Based Immigration System. – Advise on and support Student visa compliance. – Process and advise on Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) requirements. – Support immigration matters related to short-term study visits. – Provide guidance on work placements connected to student immigration status. – Respond to Graduate Route immigration queries. – Support the University’s sponsor obligations. – Contribute to audit readiness related to student immigration compliance. – Deliver guidance and training on immigration matters to staff and students.
