OVERVIEW Tufts University is seeking an Assistant Director for Tufts Global Education, External Programs. This role supports student participation in education abroad opportunities through advising, program management, outreach, and collaboration across university departments. The position focuses on strengthening global education initiatives while helping student participants prepare for successful study abroad experiences. The role combines higher education administration, student advising, partnership management, and program assessment. The Assistant Director contributes to strategic initiatives that support education abroad programming and student engagement across Tufts. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Advise student participants preparing to study abroad – Oversee student participation in external education abroad programs – Manage transfer credit processes related to abroad programs – Organize study abroad fairs and related events – Develop student outreach initiatives and pre-departure programming – Assess partner program quality and health and safety considerations – Collaborate with academic departments and student service offices – Build and maintain relationships with international partners – Support marketing efforts for Tufts Global Education programs – Contribute to strategic initiatives within global education REQUIREMENTS – Demonstrated experience in education abroad advising – Experience in program management – Experience in global education administration in higher education WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This position plays an important role in supporting student access to meaningful abroad opportunities and strengthening global learning within higher education.
