The job description is as follows: Position Details External Relations Location: University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, Birmingham UK This is a full-time fixed-term contract for up to 12 months with a starting salary range of £33,348 to £43,155. There is potential for progression to £45,737 once in the post. The grade for this position is 7. Please note that this role requires a hybrid work pattern. Three days will be spent in the office at Edgbaston Campus, Beech House, and two days will be working from home. The closing date for applications is 28th July 2023. Job Purpose The main responsibilities of this position include: Overseeing and coordinating the delivery of international team-wide marketing projects: Acting as the team marketing lead to support the phase two implementation of the University’s new CRM system in 2023-2024 Developing innovative cross-channel marketing strategies and campaigns to support international student recruitment activities globally, as well as within the region, monitoring their success and amending accordingly during the recruitment cycle Managing the running of international advertising campaigns that bring together colleagues across the University, including leading the delivery of student recruitment campaigns Managing the development of key recruitment collateral, including materials to be used at a range of student recruitment events Managing relationships with internal and external creative and digital agencies with the objective of delivering innovation in international recruitment marketing and developing high-quality content and materials Developing international social media strategies with the Campaigns and Reputation team to support student recruitment activities. Being responsible for the management, coordination, and delivery of Europe regional international recruitment and projects, including: Undertaking independent travel to attend education exhibitions, visit schools and universities, making promotional presentations, and conducting one-to-one interviews with potential applicants advising candidates Managing a network of recruitment agents in the region Providing recruitment and admissions related advice and guidance to academic Schools Having line management responsibility for the International Recruitment and Marketing Administrator Supporting the Deputy Head of International Recruitment & Regional Manager to manage the elements of the International Recruitment budget allocated to the identified region. Person Specification The ideal candidate is educated to degree level, with relevant practical experience They have evidence of literacy and numeracy to a high standard They have experience delivering marketing and/or communications campaigns They have experience delivering events, ideally related to sales/recruitment, and presenting to audiences They have experience delivering projects and initiatives with measurable outcomes and deliverables They have cultural awareness and sensitivity They have excellent IT skills and an aptitude for learning They are willing to work independently, occasionally remotely from the line manager, and undertake limited periods of travel internationally in Europe without direct supervision, and work flexibly outside of normal working hours when reasonably required.
