Location: Remote / London About UKCISA UKCISA is a membership organization providing advice, training, and policy guidance to nearly 500 members and support services to thousands of international students annually. Our membership includes public and private universities, further education colleges, independent schools, and students’ unions. About the Role UKCISA is seeking a volunteer with financial qualifications and/or experience to join our trustee board as honorary treasurer. The ideal candidate will have recent experience working as a Finance Director or CFO in a relevant industry/sector. The treasurer’s role is vital for the financial well-being and future sustainability of UKCISA. The position involves overseeing financial strategy, reserves policy, financial management, risk management, external reporting, and membership pricing decisions. The estimated time commitment is a maximum of 7 days per year. The initial appointment is for three years, with potential for reappointment for another three years. Core Responsibilities Act as the main technical advisor to the Finance, Audit, and Risk Committee Advise on the development and implementation of the financial strategy Provide strategic advice and direction Collaborate with other senior stakeholders and relevant committees Share best practices and industry insights Review and sign-off the Annual Report and Accounts Report on Finance, Audit, and Risk activities to the UKCISA Board Recommend delegated committee responsibilities to the UKCISA Board Agree on an Annual Schedule of Business and support advance agenda planning Review meeting papers before distribution to the Finance, Audit, and Risk Committee Approve Committee Meeting Minutes Key Skills and Values UKCISA trustees must demonstrate the following skills and values: Commitment to UKCISA’s values and understanding of charitable aims Commitment to equal opportunities and promotion of diversity Willingness to devote necessary time and effort to attend meetings and contribute to the organization’s vision and mission Strategic vision Good, independent judgment Creative thinking ability Willingness to express opinions Understanding and acceptance of legal duties, responsibilities, and liabilities of trusteeship Effective teamwork Constructive questioning of current thinking and governance methods Evaluation and interpretation of management information and other data Commitment to Nolan’s seven principles of public life: selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty, and leadership How to Apply Please apply for this role using the Be Applied Platform by submitting an up-to-date CV and responding to the three questions via the ‘Apply’ button above.
