As Head of Energy and Carbon, your primary role is driving the university’s net zero carbon programme, aligning with our strategic goal of attaining net zero carbon and net biodiversity gain by 2035. You will oversee the management of utility procurement and data, building controls, carbon reduction projects across the estate, and decarbonisation of heat. This role requires excellent management, communication, and analytical skills to provide high-quality data that meets stakeholder needs. It is a high-profile role that will require regular reporting to University committees on data, risks, and horizon scanning. The ideal candidate should have a comprehensive understanding of the approach required to achieve net zero in large organizations, be flexible with an adaptable approach to work while striving for excellence. You must have good communication skills with the ability to summarize technical details to an engaged audience.
