Job Details: The Reves Center for International Studies at William & Mary is seeking applicants for the role of Global Education Advisor. As a Global Education Advisor, you will be joining a dedicated team of international educators at William & Mary, a prestigious public research university located in historic Williamsburg, Virginia. In this role, you will be an essential member of our Global Education Office, focusing on advising and managing a portfolio of study abroad programs, overseeing the peer advisor program, and providing regional advising. Responsibilities: – Manage and advise a portfolio of exchange, sponsored semester, and summer faculty-led programs and study abroad options under the supervision of the Senior Associate Director/Deputy Director of Global Education Programs. – Oversee the peer advisor program. – Provide regional advising for W&M students. – Support incoming exchange students and the transfer credit process. – Actively engage with university students, fostering a student-focused and student-oriented approach. Requirements: To be a successful applicant, you should possess the following qualifications: – Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and experience. – Extensive knowledge of international education practices and principles, student development, and student engagement provisions for college students. – Knowledge of advising services, transfer and admission processes, student advocacy, mentoring programs, and community resources for students. – Experience in student advising and programming. – Demonstrated ability to manage programs, implement quality services, interpret policies and procedures, and handle budgets and resources effectively. – Strong organizational and multitasking skills with great attention to detail and accuracy. – Proficiency in using personal computers and Microsoft Office Suite for report generation, presentations, and resource management. – Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, displaying excellent interpersonal skills. – Effective oral and written communication skills, including presenting to diverse groups of faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders. Preferred: In addition to the requirements above, the ideal candidate may also possess one or more of the following qualifications: – Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a related discipline. – Experience with TerraDotta software. – Experience with social media. – Experience working with or managing student groups or student workers. – In-depth knowledge or experience in one of the following areas: cross-cultural training or experience, living abroad, second language skills, study abroad advising, or working in a post-secondary international education setting.
