OVERVIEW The Senior Study Abroad Advisor (SSAA) at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga plays a central role in supporting and expanding the institution’s global engagement mission. This position focuses on advising students across a broad portfolio of study abroad opportunities while contributing to institutional goals related to international education participation. The role combines direct student support, collaboration with faculty and campus partners, and the delivery of programs that enhance global learning and intercultural development. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Advise students on a wide range of study abroad opportunities across all study abroad portfolios. – Support both incoming and outgoing exchange students throughout their study abroad experience. – Deliver recruitment programming to encourage student participation in study abroad. – Provide pre-departure preparation programming for students participating in international programs. – Offer re-entry support programming to help students reflect on and integrate their international experiences. – Collaborate with faculty on the development of faculty-led study abroad programs. – Contribute to international travel risk management efforts. – Promote intercultural learning and global competency development across campus. – Support outreach initiatives related to global engagement. – Assist with the administration of global engagement initiatives.
