The Study Abroad Specialist helps University of North Dakota students, staff, and faculty navigate the study abroad experience. The role provides comprehensive support for long-term programs such as semester and summer programs abroad, including advising on program selection, applications, pre-departure preparation, academic advising, travel documentation, cultural orientation, and risk management. Responsibilities include advising students and faculty, teaching a required pre-departure course, supporting students before, during, and after study abroad, coordinating study abroad events, advising the Global Ambassador program, collaborating with academic departments and campus partners, coordinating with international partner institutions and third-party providers, maintaining applications and records, and representing UND Study Abroad through outreach and professional development.
