OVERVIEW The Study Abroad Program Manager at the University of Chicago plays a central role in delivering high-quality international education experiences for students. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Study Abroad, this position manages and administers all phases of assigned study abroad programs. The role serves as the primary point of contact for faculty, students, and international partners, ensuring programs operate smoothly from planning through completion. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Manage and administer all phases of assigned study abroad programs – Serve as the key contact person for faculty associated with the programs – Serve as the key contact person for students participating in the programs – Serve as the key contact person for personnel abroad associated with the programs – Provide student advising related to study abroad participation – Manage program admissions processes – Lead pre-departure preparation for students – Coordinate with international partner institutions and organizations – Address on-site issues that arise during program delivery REQUIREMENTS – Ability to undertake domestic and international travel as required by the role WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Study abroad programs are complex, high-impact initiatives that require careful coordination and responsive management.
