OVERVIEW The Student Enrollment Coordinator, High School Study Abroad plays a central role in supporting international exchange opportunities for secondary school students through CIEE’s High School Study Abroad programs. This position manages the applicant experience from initial inquiry through confirmed participation, ensuring students and families feel informed and supported throughout the process. The role is remote within Illinois, with a preference for candidates based in the Chicago metro area, and sits within CIEE’s Global Navigator Programs team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Manage the full applicant journey from initial inquiry through confirmed participation in High School Study Abroad programs. – Support outreach efforts to prospective students and families. – Build and maintain relationships with students and families throughout the enrollment process. – Guide participants toward appropriate international exchange and study abroad experiences. – Support High School Study Abroad programs as part of the Global Navigator Programs team. REQUIREMENTS – Ability to work remotely within the state of Illinois. – Availability to be based in or near the Chicago metro area (preferred). WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Student Enrollment Coordinators are often the first and most consistent point of contact for students and families considering study abroad. By providing clear guidance and personalized support, this role helps ensure students are matched with programs that align with their goals and readiness. Strong enrollment support contributes directly to positive participant experiences and the overall success of international education programs. BONUS: APPLICATION ADVICE – Highlight any experience supporting students or families through application or decision-making processes, especially in education or youth-focused programs. – Emphasize communication and relationship-building skills, as this role involves regular interaction with students and parents. – Demonstrate comfort managing multiple applicants at different stages of a process, from inquiry to confirmation. – If applying from the Chicago area, note your familiarity with the local region and ability to engage with families virtually from that context. – Research CIEE’s High School Study Abroad and Global Navigator Programs in advance to show understanding of the organization’s mission and program model.
