OVERVIEW The International Education Coordinator at Marquette University plays a central role in supporting international students and ensuring institutional compliance with U.S. immigration regulations. This position combines regulatory responsibilities with student advising, operational coordination, and campus collaboration. It is well suited for professionals who enjoy balancing compliance-focused work with student-facing services in a university setting. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) for F visa students, including immigration advising and compliance oversight – Serve as an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for J visa programs – Manage SEVIS processes and required government documentation – Advise international students on immigration-related matters – Share responsibility for education abroad advising – Coordinate and administer international health insurance – Manage incoming exchange student applications and provide related support services – Oversee front desk management and daily office operations – Act as a liaison with campus partners and offices – Hire and supervise student workers – Process international agreements and contracts – Oversee international student events and programming REQUIREMENTS – Bachelor’s degree – Experience as a Designated School Official (DSO or PDSO) in international education – Experience as an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for J visa programs – Experience in education abroad advising – Familiarity with Terra Dotta software WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This role directly supports international students’ ability to study and thrive in the United States by ensuring accurate immigration advising and regulatory compliance.
