Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington is currently seeking a Director of International Student and Scholar Services to join their International Studies and Programs team. This role is vital in enhancing the university’s vision and involves working closely with international students and scholars. As the Director of International Student and Scholar Services, you will be responsible for strategic planning and management of the international student component within the Office of International Studies and Programs. This includes overseeing recruitment, admissions, and immigration advising to increase international and online student enrollment. Additionally, you will represent the university in domestic and international recruitment efforts and ensure compliance with immigration regulations in SEVIS. Key duties include managing all aspects of the international student component, developing and implementing recruitment strategies, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, overseeing international admissions processing, providing immigration advising, and serving as the Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) for SEVIS compliance. The position also involves supervising and leading a team of international admissions counselors, a SEVIS coordinator, international student advisors, and an office assistant lead. Candidates for this position must have a Master’s Degree and at least three years of relevant experience in international education, recruitment, or admissions. They should possess an understanding of federal and international laws and regulations, particularly in relation to SEVIS compliance. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Professional involvement in the field of international education is preferred. Fluency in English and proficiency in at least one additional language are preferred qualifications. Applicants with leadership experience within international education, supervisory experience, and budget management experience will be given preference.
