The Director of Admissions, reporting to the Associate Vice President of Student Engagement, is responsible for driving enrollment growth with qualified and capable students. The director provides leadership in achieving enrollment targets, oversees the prospective student experience, develops admissions policies and procedures, mentors staff performance, and tracks enrollment trends accurately. The starting salary for this position is $90,000. The minimum qualifications for the role include a Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, Management, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Three to five years of admissions or higher education experience is required, preferably in graduate or professional education, with experience in international, undergraduate, and graduate admissions being preferred. Supervision experience of professional staff is required. The director should have demonstrated success in leading diverse teams and fostering a climate that values and embraces all forms of human diversity. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel, is necessary, as well as technical skills with student information systems/databases. The duties and responsibilities of the Director of Admissions include developing and executing strategies to support inquiry conversion and confirmations of new students, ensuring adequate staffing levels and productivity, monitoring inquiry generation and quality, implementing admissions policies and procedures, analyzing marketing and enrollment reports, leading a customer-centered environment, developing and implementing admissions events, managing programs related to student retention, and performing other related tasks as required. The director will have direct reports including Associate Directors of Admissions and Enrollment Managers, and indirect reports including Senior Admissions Counselors, Admissions Counselors, and International Admissions Counselors. The role involves interactions with various internal departments, such as the Campus Director, Student Business Services, Academic Deans, Program Directors, Human Resources, and IT Departments, as well as external interactions with other academic institutions and members of the local community. The work environment for this position is a standard office setting with regular office hours. Some travel may be required to other Alliant university campuses or for participation in local recruitment events. The director should possess strong organizational, communication, leadership, and customer service skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks and work under high-stress conditions.
