Job Description: The Director, Business Development and Outreach is responsible for leading the B2B strategy for IELTS USA in the US market. This role involves serving as a resource for educational institutions and professional organizations, promoting the use of IELTS in the admissions process. The Director will develop and execute a strategic business development plan to expand the use of IELTS, promote evidence-based admission policies, and enhance the understanding of the IELTS examinations among admission professionals. Key Responsibilities: 1. Higher Education: Develop and execute an annual higher education and new business development strategy, providing updates to the board of directors. Utilize data-driven insights to enhance strategy effectiveness. Collaborate with the Executive Director on budget management. Host the annual IELTS USA Advisory Council and facilitate effective board/staff communication. Serve as a liaison across the partnership, providing insights and support for U.S. recognition and new business development strategies. 2. People Management: Lead the team’s outreach efforts to strategic higher education accounts and new business opportunities. Provide guidance on relationship development with key stakeholders to build the IELTS brand. Oversee the team’s recognition programs and represent IELTS USA at conferences. Establish regional account targets and manage key performance indicators. Provide oversight for data projects and communication plans. 3. Project Management: Manage projects related to strategy, new product launches, and data management. Collaborate with global partners on new IELTS services and product launches. Utilize technology and best practices to improve internal processes. Ensure candidates and colleges receive partner-managed services. 4. Marketing: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop targeted competitor communications. Monitor and report on competitor activity. Implement marketing and outreach initiatives via email, newsletter, and social media. Ensure marketing communications meet the needs of the U.S. higher education market. 5. People Development: Develop onboarding processes for new employees and identify training opportunities for existing employees. Conduct annual training and development needs assessments. Coach direct reports on employee development and professional growth. Additional Requirements: – Experience using CRMs, project management tools, and marketing automation tools. – Familiarity with virtual meeting technology. – Oversee the maintenance of research agendas. – Regular travel, both domestically and internationally. Qualifications: – Master’s degree and 10 years of relevant work experience. – Experience developing outreach teams and data-driven business development strategies. – Experience leading a sales and/or recruitment function in an educational-focused business or higher education institution. – Understanding of English language proficiency testing in U.S. higher education. – Understanding of admission tools and how IELTS services can be deployed through them. – Experience managing staff responsible for CRMs. – Strong presentation, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. – Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines. – Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including writing for academic/trade publications. – Strong leadership and strategic planning skills. – Established network of contacts in U.S. higher education, particularly in international admissions. – Ability to travel 25% and hold a passport allowing international travel
